get face-mask fabulous...

I love this I Am Plant Oatmeal Face Mask from Nature Girl. Perfect for normal to dry skin. It feels great on the face and left my skin soft and hydrated to the touch. The nutrient-rich exfoliating mask is made with nourishing oatmeal, wildcrafted ginseng extract to give the skin a boost, oils of jojoba seed, sweet almond and sesame seed and organic damascena rose water. If you are unfamiliar with Nature Girl, they have great products using ingredients that are all natural and organically grown. They have fun packaging in bold colors and donate a percentage of their sales to projects that benefit and improve the lives of women and the environment.

time for a mask...

Are you craving a face mask to soften and moisturize sensitive skin? Try this banana-avocado recipe that can easily be made in your home. Similar to the basic avocado mask but with a few more skin softening ingredients:

1 organic ripened banana
1 organic ripened avocado
2 tablespoons plain organic yogurt
2 drops of Vitamin E oil

This will make enough for 2 masks at least. Apply to clean, damp skin for 10-20 minutes. Wipe mask off and rinse face with warm water. Apply a moisturizer, or don't if you're going to sleep.

as soft as it gets...

Thanks to my roommate, I came across an amazing facial scrub that I am so excited to share... Eminence Organics Pear and Poppyseed Microderm Polisher. I instantly felt a difference on my skin, actually I don't recall my skin ever feeling this soft! I wish I could actually do a full body scrub with this, it's that amazing. The scent is nice as well and I love the directions it gives on the packaging, "Mix the polisher with an equal amount of water, tea or juice. For sensitive skin, mix with an equal amount of the Pear & Green Apple Masque. Gently apply to the skin with a circular motion for one to two minutes. (It is recommended to place a wet gauze or cotton strip over top). Steaming is possible while the masque is on. Remove with a warm wash cloth." I love how it says mix with water, tea or juice...fabulous. Eminence products are never tested on animals and packaging is 100% recyclable. Available online.

products from the French...

Bonjour! I am very excited for todays post. I have been in Paris for the last couple months working on various projects, vacationing and of course researching beauty/skincare. Today is my last day in Paris, so in celebration of my amazing time here, todays post is all about organic french products!

I am not sure which of these below products can be ordered outside of France but if anything, it's a good list to have with you when your in France. Many of these can be found at the numerous natural food stores (magasin biologique or magasin bio for short). Such as the Bio Moi or Naturalia. Some products can also be found at the various pharmacies as well.

I also discovered an amazing website, cosmetiquesbio.net that has an incredible variety of organic products as well (in french).

This cream sensible by Ballot-flurin is something my friend Daisy discovered at Naturalia when she was here in Paris with me. We love it! The texture and scent has a slight clay like feeling and the lotion leaves your face with a fine soft matte finish. Perfect for people who feel their skin is too shiny. They also offer a honey shampoo, I am a huge fan of the lingering scent honey products leave. The packaging is cute as well...
The above PATYKA scent is Boise which translates to Timber. One of my good male friends requested that I bring him back a Cedar scent by one of his favorite Paris scent makers. I never paid much attention to woodsy scents until sent on this mission! They are actually quite nice and very appropriate for male or females. I was thrilled to come across this organic company PATYKA who has a nice, quaint store in Paris . The make all sorts of organic scents, oils and product with very nice shelf appeal.

SANOFLORE products are sold at all the pharmacies around Paris. The above is a hydrating spay similar to the one posted earlier by Jurlique...SANOFLORE also advertise their products to be baby friendly as well. I seem to notice a parisian trend with keeping babies smelling nice and dousing them with sprays, lol.

This is a very nice simple gentle exfoliating shower gel by Belle&Bio. Great for sensitive skin. And lastly we have a sensitive face cream by Mosqueta's, which focuses on using my favorite, Rose Mosqueta as the main ingredient in their products.

The beauty in Paris is amazing, so fresh and natural. The lifestyle differences between Paris and New York are extreme, (although the lifestyle differences between most places in the world and New York are extreme, lol). There is a lot more focus on eating of fresh foods with little preservatives and eating in smaller quantities than in the U.S.. The lifestyle is relaxed and people take time to dine. People to not take drinks to go, not even from Starbucks. Is it the combination of all of this and the lack of focus on fake beauty that makes naturally beautiful skin and quality lifestyle so apparent in Paris? Either way it was very inspiring to be around!.

I am going to be traveling in California for the next couple weeks, so if there is a delay in posts that is why...hopefully I will have some fun new products and spas to post about at the end of my west coast vacation for you!

gentle cleansers...Kimberly Sayer

I came across Kimberly Sayer products while I was visiting my friend Hazel Grace in Santa Monica, C.A.. Hazel had a gentle facial cleanser that had the best aroma to it. She described the aroma as "like her moms fresh baked lemon cookies". She lived near Palmettos, which sells a wide range of products, so I walked over to pick some up for myself. I have also seen Kimberly Sayer products sold at Whole Foods Market.

This product is perfect for sensitive skin and below are a few highlights from the website.
This gentle creamy cleanser with a base of Soy, Seaweed and Lavender Oil, removes surface impurities and deep cleanses clogged pores. Gentle enough to remove make up, it won’t dry or irritate the delicate eye tissue. Wonderful fresh aroma leaves the skin feeling clean and refreshed.

I really like this quote from the Kimberly Sayer site as well,
The use of man made chemicals in skincare negate ingredients essential functions, therefore minimizing the effects. True organic products are absorbed by the skin, identified as food, therefore achieving maximum results for your skin. Something to think about...
