Being that Flawless Beauty features beauty products, solutions and quick fixes, it seemed fitting to share Trace with all of you, a magazine celebrating "true beauty". Always one of my favorite magazines, Trace does a great job of representing the talents and beauty of people from all over the world. Also, the very talented Marc Baptiste shot a lot of the spreads, he has an amazing ability to capture striking shots of women, showing their beauty inside and out. You actually can download the whole magazine on the Trace website here.

I would first like to say that I very much enjoy reading this blog; I think the idea of holistic, natural skincare is wonderful, and I've found some of your tips very useful.
However, this entry is quite disappointing. Having skimmed Trace Magazine's website, I noticed that all their models are still skinny, and therefore promoting an unrealistic standard of beauty. I am somewhat surprised that for all the good you yourself do to promote wellness and self-care that you would, in turn, promote a magazine that portrays thinness as The Standard of beauty.
Thank you for reading and enjoying Flawless Beauty!
...I should point out that Trace first and foremost is a fashion magazine. Fashion magazines use models that are skinny, this is a huge debate that I will not touch on right now (or ever in this blog bc this is not a fashion blog)...
What I will say though, as I point out in a lot of posts, you have to start somewhere...Trace promotes up and coming fashion models, artists and other creative types focusing on all ethnicities and continually featuring models of color. It is very rare to find a fashion magazine that challenges the set standard of beauty in the fashion world. See Bethann Hardisons article on, "the ongoing revolution within the fashion industry"
I made the post "a fun read" to celebrate a magazine featuring beautiful women of color and an amazing photographer who actually does touch on the topic of "is skinny the perfect body type etc.." in his article. Check it out...
I am elaborating so much on the above comment because I think it is a good point and I know many people will have the same thoughts while skimming the post "true beauty" (note the quotations). Thanks!
Thanks! Great Blog!
